A management system for an alpine refuge
In summer 2026 I worked a season as utility staff at Rifugio ai Brentei, in the Brenta Dolomites. I saw the bottlenecks in daily service and, on my own initiative, built the system that replaced them.
Context
A refuge with 100+ seats runs at a high pace in peak season. My job covered everything from maintenance to the dining room and guest rooms, so I saw where time was being lost: check-in and table orders.
Nobody asked me to fix it. I designed, built and deployed the system alongside the regular job, and rebuilt the refuge's website too.
What I built
Table orders
Full table service for a 100+ seat dining room, taken digitally.
Check-in
Guest check-in procedures, automated.
Backups
Automatic Excel and PDF backups of the day's operations.
45 modules, one stack
A full-stack system written in Python, developed independently.
Result
It has been in daily production since July 2026. It cut the team's workload and made service to guests faster.
